Our family-owned and operated home building company has over 45 years of local experience and has been named one of the Nation’s “Top 100 Builders” for over a decade. Best known for our coastal home styles and top-of-the-line finishes, Bill Clark Homes focuses on maximizing spaces to accommodate any lifestyle and offers the ability to personalize each home. We understand the process of turning a dream home into reality and strive to help each and every client do so.
In 2015 we established our Custom Brand, Legacy Homes by Bill Clark.
Over the years, Bill watched this company grow from the first house into an organization that can bring the entire new home experience to life. He is fortunate that he was able to pass along his passion for building new homes to his children. Heath, Lance, and Hunter Clark have taken the reigns of Bill Clark Homes and have expanded the original goal of simply building quality homes into the industry-leading homebuilder that we are today.
Hear from our founder:
“When I started Bill Clark Homes over four decades ago, it began with one house that was built for another family to call home. I initially set out to build affordable and dependable homes that would stand the test of time. Over the years, I’ve watched this company grow from that first house into an organization that now is able to bring the entire new home experience to life. Our development team starts with the land and a vision for each community. Combine that with our award-winning floorplans and a talented design team that can turn each home into something really special, it sets up our sales team for long term success. With the help of many others behind the scenes, we ultimately trust our experienced builders take that vision and turn it into the final product that our clients are proud to call home."
"I am fortunate that I’ve been able to pass along my passion for building new homes to my children. My sons have grown up on construction sites and have been able to learn the building and development business hands-on. It has been fun to watch as they have taken the reigns of Bill Clark Homes and have expanded my original goal of simply building quality homes into the industry-leading homebuilder that we are today.”
Heath Clark, Bill’s middle son, grew up playing baseball and working on construction sites. After playing baseball for and earning his Marketing Degree from East Carolina University, he knew that working as a part of the family business would be his future. When an opportunity to build for the Wilmington division of Bill Clark Homes opened up, Heath moved to the coast and never looked back. As a past President of the Wilmington Cape Fear Homebuilders Association and a member of the North Carolina Homebuilders Association, Heath has been able to impact the building industry on both a local as well as a state level. As a member of the advocacy group BASE (Business Alliance for a Sound Economy), Heath has been able to offer valuable insight for the building industry and other trade organizations that only comes with years of experience. Currently residing in Wilmington with his wife Casey and three girls, Kaylie, Campbell, and Hunter Grace, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends on the beautiful NC beaches, cheering on the ECU Pirates, and a good golf match from time to time.
Lance Clark, Bill’s youngest son, like his older brothers grew up immersed in the building business. He joined the company in 1990, and by working in entry-level positions Lance was able to learn the home building business from the ground up. After graduating with a degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, he returned to Greenville where he worked his way up to the position of Area Manager over Greenville operations in 2005. His dedication to the customer is demonstrated by his willingness to personalize plans, plan options and features in order to meet the individual taste and needs of the customer, setting Bill Clark Homes apart from other homebuilders. Lance is the co-chair of the Greenville ENC Alliance, a member of the Pitt County Home Builders Association, the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, and on the board of the East Carolina Pirate Club. His civic involvement has had a tremendous impact on area housing, none more gratifying than partnering with the city of Greenville to provide high quality affordable to homes to some very special new homeowners. Lance resides in Greenville, NC with his wife Missy and two sons Eli and Luke. He has passed his love for fishing, hunting, and East Carolina sports to his children and takes every opportunity to share those experiences with them.
The Bill Clark family legacy continues with the third generation, Bill's grandchildren.
