The Sanctuary Named One of Ideal Living’s Top 100 Best Places to Live!
We are pleased to announce that an upcoming Bill Clark Homes community, The Sanctuary at Sunset Beach, has been included in Ideal Living’s Top 100 places to live! Each year, Ideal Living surveys its readers to determine the most popular destinations and amenities for homeowners. A special editorial committee assembled by the Ideal Living publication then reviews the qualifications of each nominee sent to them. A strong sense of community, a promotion of health and wellness, and beautiful scenery are just some of the features Ideal Living looks for. We are honored that The Sanctuary at Sunset Beach will be featured among the chosen winners!
The Sanctuary at Sunset Beach is a new community by Bill Clark Homes forthcoming in 2022, but it’s not a surprise to see that it’s already garnering attention. Located just steps away from local shops and restaurants and only 1.5 miles from the beach, this community is the epitome of laid-back coastal living—with the added convenience of being a low-maintenance planned community. With inclusion of luxurious resort-style amenities, The Sanctuary will make every day at home feel like a relaxing vacation getaway.
The town of Sunset Beach encompasses both a mainland and an island, making it unique among the southeastern North Carolina barrier island communities. The Town was started in 1955 a year after Hurricane Hazel struck the surrounding area. Mannon C. Gore purchased Bald Beach from the Brooks family, who dated its ownership back to the 1700s. Inspired by the beautiful sunsets, he renamed the island Sunset Beach.
In recent years, the Town of Sunset Beach has developed in size and population. It has welcomed the addition of the Sea Trail Plantation, including the three golf courses -- The Village at Sunset, Sugar Sands, and the Sandpiper Bay, Wyndfall, and Cape Side communities including the Sandpiper Bay Golf Course.
The Sanctuary is chock-filled with amenities for its homeowners, from a resort pool to a fitness center and clubhouse. Of course, that doesn’t include the numerous area amenities, such as the close beach access and various bars and restaurants.
